The Moon Wheel

One small wheelie for man, one giant wheelie for man kind

The Moon Wheel is a progressive suspension anti-tip system for wheelchair users.

As part of one day MIT Assistive Tech Hackathon, our team prototyped this system. We call this the Moon Wheel because it "lowers the gravity" for a wheelchair user as they navigate the world. We are a team of 5 engineering students from Olin College of Engineering and one co-designer, Erik, who brought this idea forward.

A big thank you to the volunteers and sponsors of the 2020 MIT Assistive Technology Hackathon.
